iPhone 4 and 4S are made of glass front and back, thats why there are so many covers that protect it from drops.       For an extreme protection i recommend going with the HC ( Hard Core ) Series, because it offers the most protection.  It has several layers of protection and makes the iPhone drop, shock and dust proof.  It also includes a built in screen protector, which will not affect the sensitivity of the screen.  A sturdy belt clip holster also comes in the package, which can be used as a kickstand.  One thing i love about Ballistic HC Series for iPhone is that the rubber soft gel case that goes over the hard plastic comes as optional.  I mean, once you have the hard plastic shell on the phone, you can use the soft case as a added protection or just leave it on the side and use it whenever you feel like it.  The belt clip holster works both ways, with just the hard case or with the soft case on it.

     The next step down is the Ballistic SG ( Shell Gel ) Series, which Ballistic claim to have three layers of protection, but i believe it only has two layers.  It has a soft gel case and the hard plastic over it, plus the corners of the case have “Ballistic Corners” ( trademark).  Ballistic Corners help prevent any shock if dropped in the corner, and the rest also provides some kind of protection.  It doesn’t provide as much protection as the HC Series, but gives regular protection from every day use.  If you are hard with your iPhone go with HC, if you usually take care of the phone ( at least a little bit) the SG might be a good choice for you. The positive side of this case is that its not bulky comparing to the HC.

      The last Series is the Ballistic LS ( Life Style) Series, which is basically just a rubber case with the bumpers for the sides of the case.  Of course, Ballistic offers a good quality cases and its much better than buying some cheap China rubber case for 50 cents.  The design and colors that it comes in are very nice and if you are the kind of person, who is very good with their phones and are looking for a light protection, LS might a very good choice. Its affordable, sleek, and slim protection.
